We have a winner!

Console table found and bought:
The TV switcheroo is in progress.

The 32" LCD TV Brent and I originally bought for the bedroom and somehow ended up in the man cave, has been moved back to the bedroom.

The new TV is looking fabulous in our family room right now. I'm really happy with the 42" size, the other TV just just too big for the space.

And the 50" DLP TV is currently being set up now in the man cave. All I know is Brent is doing something with speakers, so I stayed away and decided to take a 3-hour nap.

In other news: Selection Sunday starts in 15 minutes. Go Jayhawks!

In other, other news: Brent and I arranged a transport today for a Westie in need. We were actually going to do the transport to Omaha today, so she could get into foster care and out of the shelter, but since my sister-in-law and brother-in-law were heading back to Omaha today – it worked out perfectly for them to take her.

I try to not get on my soapbox often about rescuing pets, but I've been good for awhile – so you get it again. Rescue your pets, do not buy from from a pet store or backyard breeder. Puppy mills are the most heartbreaking thing, and the level of abuse that comes from them is criminal. Chip wasn't a puppy mill dog, but he was abused – and it's taken 3 years for him to act like the carefree puppy he should.

Can't take in another pet right now? There are other ways to help out. Brent and I actually used to foster dogs. It's a very rewarding experience, watching a foster learn to love – the difficult part is letting them go. Or, you can do what Brent and I do now – transports and home visits. Both are rather self-explanatory. You do transports to get dogs in need into a foster care. You do home visits to interview the people who want a dog with your rescue group.

Okay, off the soapbox and now time for some Selection Sunday. :)

  1. I think it is awesome what you do to save pets.SO MANY people think they are disposable.I am a huge dog lover and tend to be on my soap box about it much too often...and do not get me started on those who have a pet then bring a child into the mix and then ditch the dog because it growled at lil susie because she pulled its tail..ugh.Every dog I have ever had in my life, I have had from the time they were weaned from mom until the day they died..the last two were both 17 when they passed..anywho..I would love to foster but am concerned how they would interact with the 3 I have now.

  4. So great that you found something so quickly! Where is it from? It took me forever to find just the right console. Looks like this will be a piece you can use for a long time.

  5. Leslie – It's from Nebraska Furniture Mart. I actually found it last year when Brent and I were sofa shopping – so I took a photo of it then so I wouldn't forget about it. I'm just happy they still carried it.
