Hot mess

While slow and steady wins the race, it also means a longer mess.

I am so ready to have my kitchen and dining room back. Thankfully, I am making progress.

In other news: Louie, the Westie Brent and I watched and transported to Omaha in October, was adopted last week. :)

Thursday's progess

Work and the weather has been crazy, so I haven't finished the upper cabinets yet, but I only have one more cabinet door to go! (And, as you can see, I got a little excited and had to do a little trial on the bottom cabinets).

I'm most excited about the spice cabinet. It was a hot mess:
But this backdoor organizer is definitely helping out:

Monday and Tuesday's progress

Monday
I'm slowly filling the cabinets back up:
Since in a lot of the photos, it's hard to tell the difference between the old beige and the new white, here's a close up:
Tuesday
Now that some of the kitchen goodies are back into the cabinets (and off the dining room table), I was able to focus on the last two high cabinets.

Even Macintosh wanted to get in on the painting action:

Sunday's progress

Well, I'm getting somewhere...

My dining room's status:
And primed:

As you can tell, I'm doing my cabinets in batches (I don't think my dining room table can take much more). Tomorrow's agenda includes priming the cabinet doors and painting everything I primed today.

Weekend plans

With a 3-day weekend ahead of me, I vow to actually start working on the kitchen cabinets. Ugh. I need a hug.

Anyone else doing some DIY around the casa?

Another duvet

The moment I saw Z Gallerie's Labyrinth bedding in gray, I fell in love. But as reality goes, I always had other things needing my financial attention (the beer-tasting party, dog grooming, Christmas...). By the time I was ready to invest, all the king shams were gone and I admitted defeat. Soon after, the duvet was sold out.

Then last night, I was "innocently" browsing Z Gallerie's bedding and noticed the bedding was available again in king (and my heart fluttered). Even better, the new sale price was $44.89 (double flutter).

The only issue was, once again, the lack of shams. My solution – buy two duvets and have shams created from one. I contacted my sew-crafty contact, and all is a go.

So excited!
